A gorgeous, famous melody, known and loved the world over.

Often treated like a hymn, I wanted to give it a different treatment - a journey from darkness into light.

Commissioned by the amazing piccolo player Sarah Miller for her album “Taken Voice” with Pieter-Jan Verhoyen the piece begins atemporal and uncertain, gradually becomes more optimistic, and finally finishes in a twinkling, sparkly ecstasy.

Written for piccolo and piano, but works well on flute too without any alterations in the piano part.
