Three Sheets to the Wind is my first Flute Quartet, first work of multiple movements and at 9 minutes duration, it’s also my longest compositional work.
The three short movements are each based on the thematic material inspired by the titles
Bounce: Bouncy(!) playful, cheeky, irreverent, rude, boisterous and fun. Featuring a fade-out finish guaranteed to raise a smile!
Soar: Ecstatic, soaring melodies passed around the voices with ghostly, ethereal residual tone accompaniment. This should be goosebumps-inducing for players and audience. Expressive, yearning, reaching higher and with more passion.
Run!: Fast, furious, ⅞ Time Signature to give the feeling of instability and panic. Playful, quirky with a cool finish guaranteed to bring the house down!
