A longtime fan of the original Bizet/Borne work for solo flute and piano - I thought that it was a little too long, and needed a bit of filling out - especially with the Gypsy Dance - which was originally a two flutes theme in the opera. 

So this inspired me to arrange a cut down "four minute special" of the much loved work for flute duet and piano accompaniment. This subsequest edition for Two Solo Flutes with Flute Ensemble accompaniment is the PERFECT encore/bis for a double headliner flute event/festival/convention - indeed - this was the purpose of the arrangement - for the Flutinades Festival in April 2020! This festival never actually happened (no idea why….) BUT instead this piece was premiered at the Fryderyk Concert Hall Flute Course in August 2020 with Agata Igras!
