Bach: Badinerie Nicosie for Flute Choir or Flute Quintet (2024)
Bach: Badinerie Nicosie for Flute Choir or Flute Quintet (2024)
Originally arranged as a commission for the 90th birthday of Maxence Larrieu in Nice in October 2024 - and played by a massed flute choir including former Larrieu Pupils, all the flute teachers from the South of France region, and flute-lebrities like Adriana Ferreira, Julien Beaudiment, Matvey Demin, Jasmine Choi, Herman van Kogelenberg, Mathieu Gauci-Ancelin, José-Daniel Castillo, Jürgen Franz, Sibel Pensel, and many more!
The idea was to create a version of the famous Bach Badinerie BUT for the melody to be passed through ALL of the parts. So this is what it is - a super fun encore that involves the whole choir in an innovative way, and can also be done at DOUBLE speed (with no repeats!) for a seat-of-the-pants-white-knuckle-ride musical joke!
With it have the standard “Flute Quintet” instrumentation - this is also suitable for this combination too!
Instrumentation:
3 x Flutes in C
1 x Alto Flute
1 x Bass Flute
